Christians can so easily forget about the invisible spiritual warfare that is constantly raging each and every day. We might not see it, but it’s there. Demons and Satan are real, and seek to attack. Spiritual warfare IS happening right now, this very moment. How can we fight, though, if we forget about it, or are not constantly fighting against evil?
Satan is out there to get you, especially when he knows that you will bring glory to God, especially when he knows that if he does nothing, you could do so much for Jesus’ kingdom. Oh, he’ll make it look good. Satan will lie to you. He will seduce you. He will try his very hardest to look appealing to you. He will make you believe lies about yourself. He wants to corrupt your innocence, destroy you, make you believe in the corrupted “truths” that he tells. He will bring you thoughts that you have no self-worth, that you are stupid, that you are ugly, that you are worthless, that you are incapable.
This is why it is so important to know that he’s out there to get you and know how to fight him. Each day as Christians, we need to put on the full armor of God. We need to pray for others, for each person is fighting this enduring battle. We need to learn the real truths in our Bible so that we can perceive the untruths that Satan tries to slip into our minds. We need to pursue Jesus and strive to follow the example he set for us when he came to this world. Do not be ignorant of Satan’s schemes, but instead know how he will attack you, and fight him back.
Jesus has already won the war; we do not fight in vain. Satan is defeated. We walk in Jesus’ victory! Jesus has given us the power and the resources to resist Satan and his demons; we need not fear.
Romans 8:31b - “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
I totally agree. I feel too many Christians today forget the severity involved in the faith we follow. Especially the youth. I’ve always liked my FCA. I’ve always supported it. But I don’t think some get it. I don’t think they get how urgent our time is NOW. How much more urgent it will get with each passing day. We are constantly under fire in a war that is always raging. I fear for them. I’m not sure they get it, and when they fall, they simply mope around, and then by the grace of God, get cheered up again, and then rewind and repeat. I think some of them have the mentality that we’re just supposed to “chill out” till Jesus comes back and than watch him scold Satan and then it’s all happy cheery sunshine. It’s not. It’s so much more complex and dangerous than that. Everyday we live, we face danger, temptation, war, and the line between life and death. As one of my favorite bands Sleeping Giant would say: “This Cross is Suicide” The acceptance of Christ isn’t an immediate ticket out of problems. It’s a big welcoming door into even more. Sounds intimidating I know. But we walk with faith knowing our God stands with us, unconquerable, and we will receive the greatest of rewards at the end of this long and spiritually bloody struggle. I have been really thinking hard lately about a way to help get this idea across to my brothers and sisters of Christ, to the point where they fully realize, and don’t become overly scared. There needs to be a stronger awakening in the Christian faith. There are too many peaceful Christians. Christianity is anything but peaceful.
“Don’t think that I came to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.”
