Based on what I know historically and prophetically about my faith… the world isn’t going to end… and mr. doomsday is off his rocker. He claims that tomorrow God will come to rapture us about 6AM, randomly rapture people from that point for the next five months…. and then at the end of that five months… destroy the world and wipe out all life.
……
If anyone who reads this is familiar with Revelations…. you surely know that’s a load of crap. A very large load.
The book of Revelation, which is the divine description of end times, talks of seven years of tribulation, divided into three segments, each containing seven judgements, that become progressively worse with each new one, each one wiping out and tormenting more and more of the earth’s population. Except for that of the sealed 144,000 tribulation saint jewish converts.
Do the math… 12squared = 144000
This nutcase also goes on to descripe 10, 15, and I think 17 it was or something… as numbers of divine influence…
ummmm…. no
most Christians could tell you three of the most frequently used and divine numbers in the bible, being 3 (representing the trinity of the father, the son, and the holy spirit; as well as the number of days it took Christ to rise from the grave). The number 7 (which is commonly seen as a “lucky number” and is used many times in the bible). And finally 12. 12 is an extremely recognized number and considered God’s number by many biblical scholars. If you read the description of New Jerusalem in the end of Revelation, you’ll see the number 12 used multiple times, describing everything from the ‘volume’ of NewJerusalem to the number of gates that surround it. 12 is also the number of disciples Christ took with him. It is used many more times beyond that.
This nutcase bases his whole theory off a mathematical equation he cooked up using his three random numbers i mentioned earlier. Many people have tried to contact the man on his theory. He has answered or responded to NOBODY. He spent millions in ad campaigning this “DOOMS DAY” event. And now he’s chickening out on it. It is obviously a hoax.
To further reinforce this from a Christian perspective. The bible says that nobody can predict the day, nor the hour, on which Christ will return for his people in the holy rapture. Which, also, contrary too mr. doomsday’s theories… only happens once… “in the twinkling of an eye”. Not repeatedly over months.
Don’t be swayed by somebody with an insane idea and a good amount of money. Use wisdom, logic, and faith, to discern the false prophets from the true men of God. The bible says that we are surrounded by “wolves in sheep’s clothing.” That become more true with each passing day. It is part of the reason I refuse to go to church. I feel I can better find God by just sitting down and reading my bible. Too many opinions and attitudes overwhelm the church today. It makes me sick.
But that’s another rant for another day. My point is… based as my believes and knowledge as a Christian, it would be EXTREMELY unlikely that apocalypse begins tomorrow. Because one more added note. Bible prophecy suggests that the oldest city on the planet (Damascus) will be obliterated off the face of the earth before the Tribulation. Now tell me… what force man has created is the only thing capable of wiping out an entire city in a heartbeat? Virtually out of existence? …. Can you say nuke? I can. Now tell me… what nation is most ready and likely to launch one on Syria? Can you say Israel (the godfathers of nuke technology)? I can. Has that happened yet?
nope.
but yeah… Im done playing preacher. Just my thoughts on it all. I’ll message you all tomorrow ;) (if not I’ll be quite surprised, but im not in charge, God is)
Goodnight Tumblr.
